Felt so much of this! It’s also so hard to have a reading habit and stick to it! I’m good for a week at best. I definitely need to get better at some version of self care, thank you for all of this. ❤️

I think a lot of us are feeling this way, so thank you for writing about it!! We have similar coping mechanisms - a walk is probably my number one! Hang in there ❤️

ALSO I think it took me like… a year to read a book after my youngest 🫣 do not fret you will get back there!

I feel you 100% on the drowning feeling. Why write, post, and take pictures of style when the world is basically on fire. But you sharing this made me feel less alone! Because at the end of the day we still need to get dress, care for our children etc. Danielle said fascism hates creativity <3

I feel the SAME about reading. Literally the second I became pregnant with my son almost 2 years ago I instantly became "too tired" to keep up with reading... he'll be 11 months soon and I really need to get back on the horse. Book accountability club??

I really appreciate you naming all this. Caring for ourselves in this very specific moment in time looks different—must look different—and I’m finding it also a continual reshuffling.

Also in a similar place with our home. I’m slowly opening myself up to actually engaging in addressing what we need room by room.

Always reshuffling is exactly how I feel! Thanks for getting it. I’m trying hard not to let my weekends just be a place of collapse, and the decluttering project is helping me to have a little structure with that.

I feel like moving with kids is a whole different ball game, you don’t have all the time to play around with things as much. Good luck!

That Babar print is so cute!!! And also, totally get the way you’ve been feeling. I’ve had those weeks too but trust it’ll pass. I’ve also fallen off reading actual books in such a big way (I start and don’t finish) but am resolved to change that this year. Xx

I so appreciate you reading, and the encouragement. I’m thinking I need to spend at least as much time reading an actual book as I do reading the news, you know?

I feel you, friend 👯and I’ve learned that reading is such a happiness hack. It almost always helps. 📕

I could tell we were having a similar week from your post. Fingers crossed for a better week ahead!

We love a groutfit! The Many Lives of Mama Love is what got me out of my reading funk after my last baby, it will pull you in quickly!

Brighter days are ahead my friend, keep looking for glimmers ✨

Thanks for the encouragement! Adding that book to my list 😊

I’m glad im not the only one who is working on a nursery after the baby is here!!! It was just too much work during my pregnancy! 😅

I figured this was preferable to when I insisted on painting my first baby’s room myself at 39 weeks pregnant 😂

Feeling all the same feels right now. The constant struggle between staying informed but protecting the peace of myself and everyone else is really tough. Loved the suggestions for self care. Gotta get my butt outside for some self care and temporarily exit hibernation mode.

Hibernation can be self care, too! Hang in there friend, we’ve got a long weekend in our sights.

We got this 🫠🫠🫠

Gosh every time I read your posts, I think about how I wish we could be friends in real life talking about these things with a cup of coffee while our babies and toddlers play!

Loving your nursery inspo-my son’s room has a similar vibe and I was able to thrift almost all of the decor and furniture!

Add Theo of Golden by Allen Levi to your library hold list-it’s all things good and kind in the world, a counterbalance to the news cycle.

I would LOVE a coffee date, babies in tow. That’s always what I hope these posts feel like.

So far the baby has all thrifted or hand me down furniture (as with the rest of the house lol)! I’m adding that book to my library holds list 😊 thanks for reading!

felt this one to my core 🫶 love hearing how you’re taking care of yourself this week. i’m trying to take it easy on myself and my kid as we step into the new year and also honor that we will have a whole new set of routines when we head back to brooklyn next week. so focusing on feeding us proper full meals and getting us both dressed (even if that means my kid sometimes has his nightshirt under a sweater).

I love those goals. I feel like if I can eat good, real meals, it solves like 50% of the issue! Hoping for a smooth reentry for you!
