Cute fits! I'm also a recent convert to pre-trip outfit planning.

And I appreciate the reminder to check Poshmark for kiddie outerwear and boots, thanks!

Thanks for sharing my piece :)

Totally co-sign on the woolino… it’s such a treat to have a baby item last that long 😅

Best wishes for your back to work transition!

Big YES to your sustainability tangent! We’re all doing our best out here to cloth our bodies in what feels best AND what makes sense for our season of life, budget, etc. That was a really unique, smart, thoughtful take. I loved everything about it and this post! Keep going! 💓

Yes! There’s gotta be some balance somewhere between crazy Amazon/Shein consumerism and $500 bespoke wool sweaters.

Thank you! It wasn’t easy but we lived to tell the tale lol. I do really recommend the horseshoe jeans, they’re basically like sweatpants.

Tricia! A gold mine as always. I’m so proud of you— traveling, writing, mom-ing, prepping for the workplace… all.the.things.

Thank you for speaking on PPA… so important.

For week 1– dress to make you feel human, but prioritize comfort and whatever is a lowlife outfit combo! Your students are sooooo lucky to get you back!! I feel like without meeting you IRL just from our chats I know you are a top notch counselor 🫶🏻

You got this!!!

Thank you, thank you! I'm thinking elastic waist pants only for the first week. Someday, we're going to meet up IRL and not play board games, I just know it.

Don’t try to multi task when pumping, esp at first.

Get fitted for the right flange size! I didn’t last time and it makes a huge difference. Pump both breasts at the same time. Don’t get super intimidated if your output is low at first. It’s not normal to have a giant freezer full of milk!

Store smaller amounts of milk (2 oz) in bags that way it doesn’t get wasted.

Good luck, my friend!!!

This is all really helpful! The LC I see did fit me for flanges and thank goodness because I would not have been using the right one. I really appreciate the encouragement 🥰

I didn’t have PPA but I did have PPD in hindsight. I was minimally willing to talk about it aside from telling anyone and everyone how unhappy and unfun being a mom was. And I LOVE my son.

I’ve also enjoyed many of Kelsey’s posts. Momming is hard WORK. ♥️

Hindsight is everything, right? It’s so hard to reconcile feeling so awful with how much you love a baby. Looking back, I definitely experienced it with my first but it was easier to chalk it up to the general stress of being a person in 2020 and white knuckle my way through. This time I saw how much my symptoms could impact my daughter (she’s 5), and I knew I needed to deal with it. I’ve made it a point to be super vocal about my experience with friends, because I know how hard it was for me to talk about and I’d want to be a soft spot to land for anyone else going through it 💛

Yes! Felt like such an asshole when I’d talk about how miserable it was to have a baby. But I’m not one who’s happy to sit around and snuggle and chill all day. I have to be doing something and I felt so stifled!

Thanks for sharing and good luck heading back to work! Not to imply that you haven’t been “working” the whole time 🙂

Thanks so much! Being at home is such a different work muscle, and I have so much respect for stay at home parents after the last six months.
