I’m honored to be included in your post! 😭😭 sending you the biggest of hugs. ❤️ I’m also 5’1 and have considered throwing out my entire wardrobe lately. Since we’re both tiny, a few of my favorite brands for rebuilding my closet have been: Jenni Kayne, AYR (my fav jeans), and WNU for the best shirts. These three brands have become my most flattering wardrobe capsule. I loveeee all of your inspo boards. I can’t wait to have places to go again.
And when you feel like you’re on that island of yours with nothing to wear, I’m waving to you from my little island. ❤️
cackled so hard at “paper towel holder energy” 🤣 i also relate to buying something i don’t love last minute for an event. last year i started planning in advance for my friends’ weddings and planned and purchased dresses that i really loved and that i hope will grow old with me because i allowed myself to make the investment in high quality clothes and nice shoes (instead of rewearing the same wedding shoes i always make work).
tbh the sticker shock of investing in things i love was tough for me to get over, but now i feel confident and ready for events coming up this year.
One of my biggest goals is to have a few very special occasion pieces that I love so much I never care about re-wearing them. Love that you’re making that investment in yourself!
Your Pinterest boards are so inspiring! I love the idea of waiting a week before purchasing. I struggle with purchasing things because it looks good on someone else, only to regret it immediately. AI is really concerning and it’s becoming harder to tell when images are real.
Tricia, welcome to the petite women's club! I'm 5'0, and I know the struggle. Those Pinterest mood boards are great and a lot of inspiration, for sure. Sorry, you are feeling overwhelmed, and it's a valid one. As parents, we do a lot, and those stupid sick days make me angry. Hope it gets better ❤️
We joke that in this house, no one can just walk into a store and buy pants 😂 I find most stores don’t stock petites in store, and my husband is 6’5” so he has to special order, too. It’s such a hassle
Can I hire you to make me a Pinterest mood board? lol I am so bad at it! Also, I have been meditating for 5 minutes in the morning too - using the insight timer. It's such a game changer.
When my son first started daycare, he maybe went 50% of the time because he was always getting sick. Then when we switched to a new daycare he missed the entire first week because of hand, foot, and mouth. It is so hard out there. I feel you every step of the way!
Your collages are so pretty! You definitely have a vision. I am picking up lots of neutrals and navy with some pops of red. I am 5’5” and still hear you with the struggles of looking at certain outfits and asking if it’s actually good or if the person is just genetically blessed with excessive lengths. I also find it super scary that AI is so good now that there are entire Instagram accounts and Pinterest images that are AI generated/not even real people.
I noticed the colors too! I didn’t intend for it, but I think that’s what I’m most drawn to (in images and in store).
I’m struggling so much with AI — I refuse to use it for almost anything at this point, and never for work (though I think a lot of people are outsourcing letters of recommendation in my world). I’m also having to have conversations about digital literacy and plagiarism waaaay too often, but it is scary how easy it is to be fooled.
Yes! It is a beast in the graduate world. And everyone I know uses it for letters of rec. I think it’s going to make college admissions very interesting. I know there’s a huge push for holistic evaluation instead of only focusing on test scores, but AI can’t take a standardized test for you!
I *just* got back on Pinterest this weekend after reading Ariane’s post last week. This is a great way to funnel my energy in that space.
Beautiful 💛
Thanks Kaitlyn! I’d love to see what you come up with
I totallllyyyyy relate to that feeling 9-months postpartum. This was fantastic!
Appreciate you friend, it’s rough out here with these second baby bodies 💛
Love this ! I am a 5’2” School Counselor. I think my work looks are a bit like your board !
Wow! Hey there 👯♀️
Hi!
When you were like "im trying to figure out how to dress for the life im actually living" that HIT HOME.
Also cant wait for your full wishlist of items coming. I'm obsessed with your style type (thank you chat GPT) and all your pins.
Thank you friend! I feel like having a baby on the move compounds this — like, no this is not the season for mini skirts, you know?

Love those recs Marina! I’ve been wanting to try AYR jeans, so good to know they work for shorties.
Okay, I’m kinda not mad at, “Modern European Minimalist with a Romantic Edge.”
Right??

Thank you Natalia! I so struggle with that too — in my head, I am 5’7” and in reality I am decidedly not 😂

LOL, husband is 6’0 so he always has issues with the length too!!

A Pinterest workshop zoom would be so fun! Sign me up 🙌🏼
We need to get a Pinterest workshop Zoom on the books, you can do it!
HFM is brutal 😵💫 we missed another day today but have our fingers crossed for a full five days next week!
Finding inspiration from you! I was reading and literally said I need more of this in my wardrobe.
Thank you! I know you’re also Team Getting Dressed is Self Care, so I count my Pinterest time as self care, too 😂

I have Pinterest boards by room type but not clothing type. I am now inspired to reorganize my generic 'Style' board with these tips!
The ability to create sections within a Pinterest board has been a game changer!
